Tap Into SS15’s Biggest Trends Now
We’re nearly there. Mentally at least, it’s almost time to pack away the parka and chunky knit collection and optimistically load-up on a raft of warm-weather pieces. As soon as January arrives, retailers consider it the start of the spring/summer season – so why not make the most of your favourite store’s new arrivals? We know there’s a lot of choice out there and it can seem daunting. But, nice people that we are, we’ve decided to give you a helping hand. Here is a list of five key items you should be considering adding to your wardrobe for SS15…
1. A Loosely Tailored Blazer
The divide between tailoring and loungewear is narrowing. Does that mean you’ll spend lazy days on your sofa in a three-piece suit? No. Does it mean that tailoring is adopting sporty, wider cuts and that louche loungewear is taking on formal fabrics, pleats and luxury styling? Yes, yes it does.

2. A Red Anything
It’s taken a while to come around, but the SS15 runways were awash with fiery and flamingo reds (you might call it pink, we call it flamingo). Adopt a less-is-more approach and look to add just one red piece to your warm-weather ensembles. On your shopping list should be some cropped outerwear, a polo shirt and a pair of shorts. Remember, only one splash of red per outfit.

3. A Fringed Suede Jacket
The alpha male of the spring/summer 2015 trends takes its inspiration from the Wild West. In practical terms, you’re not going to walk down the street in chaps, but you should be looking to get your hands on at least one fringed item, preferably a suede jacket. Wide-brimmed hats, western shirts, neckerchiefs, ponchos and Navajo trims are also on the menu.

4. A Statement Cartoon Print
The kids are alright. And to prove the point, designers have been raiding Disney archives, utilising pop culture references and creating their own brand of characters. Bobby Abley did this to great effect with his Little Mermaid-inspired SS15 collection, with the Ursula sweater below making it into most fashion editors’ top picks.

5. A Lot Of Denim
When brands such as Prada and Burberry send models down the runway in layered denim looks, you know a big season trend awaits. Luckily, you probably already own a pair of jeans and maybe even a denim jacket, which means you’re already half way there. The key is to create double or even triple denim outfits by mixing up high street, high-end and vintage pieces in a variety of washes and colours.
